As a middle school student, usually I’m busy and have no time to do other things. But in my spare time, I like reading and traveling. I think they’re fit for me.
A good book is a friend who never turns his back upon us. Reading makes me get a lot of knowledge. I usually read classics. They improve my philological ability and makes me know much different philological style in different countries.
Well, traveling is good, too. I’ve been to many cities. I think I am just like a modern “Xu Xiake”. It opens up my eyes to the outside world, and makes me feel many different customs.
In 2001, at the age of ten, I went to Beijing to take part in a chorus competition by myself. It was my first time to travel without my parents. At first I felt very excited. I had a very heavy bag, and I had to carry it on my back. Then on the train, I couldn’t go to sleep. I missed my home and my parents, and my tears rolled down my face. In Beijing, I visited a lot of places of interest. In my opinion, Beijing, the capital of China, is a mixture of modern civilization and ancient civilization. In Beijing Science Museum, I got a lot of knowledge. Also, I got a lot from other activities.
Life may be sour, sweet, bitter or hot. It gives us different feelings. Life is like a poem, which gives us taste; life is as beautiful as songs; life is also like paintings, and it is very colorful!

Hobbies are activities in which people participate for amusement. A hobby can be almost anything. Music, sports, collecting stamps, cooking, keeping pets are enjoyed by millions of people. Rare object collectors could find value in collections that go a half step beyond the conventional. A sound hobby can help you develop a certain skill. You may start as an outsider and end as an expert.
People take up hobbies because these activities offer knowledge and relaxation. Turning dull moments into delightful ones, hobbies can let out emotions, reduce tension. By slipping into a fantasy world hobbyists avoid troubles around them. Therefore, they usually keep a healthy mind and a sunny character. In a sense a hobby is more like a special lifetime companion. Hobbies paint daily life colourful.

The four most important components of a colorful life are quality of life,people,health and passion.The first,quality of life,can be achieved by doing everything to the best of our ability.If we do that,success will come to us.Second,we must value the people and relationships in our lives.People are the secret to happiness,so we must always treat them right.Third,we must treat our body right,too.It is difficult to enjor life without good health.The last ingredient,passion,is perhaps the most important.We must commit one hundred percent to our relationships and career.
We should have a passion for living. In conclusion,we can all have wonderful lives.All we have to do is remember that the for keys to a colorful life are:quality of life,people,health and passion.By paying attention to these things we are bound to live meaningfully and well.
