記得那是在我上小學(xué)二年級(jí)的時(shí)候，有一天放學(xué)在學(xué)校門口，圍了一堆人，我好奇地走過去想看個(gè)究竟，擠進(jìn)去一看原來是一個(gè)農(nóng)村老奶奶挎著一筐彩色小雞來賣。

看著許多同學(xué)抱著買到的小雞興高采烈地往回走，我有一種沖動(dòng)，想買一只小雞帶回去，可當(dāng)我手摸到口袋里僅有的，準(zhǔn)備買小食品的一元錢時(shí)，我猶豫了。我轉(zhuǎn)身往回走，可是又想起了剛才那只生病的小雞。我想：那只小雞會(huì)不會(huì)同學(xué)買走？會(huì)不會(huì)死掉？或是被賣雞的老奶奶丟棄？我想到這兒不由地難過起來，我決心幫助它，我要保護(hù)它，我要讓它好起來。于是，我掏出那一元錢遞給了老奶奶。老奶奶遞給我一只漂亮的歡快的綠色小雞。我對(duì)老奶奶說：“我不要這只，我要那只低著頭，在發(fā)抖的黃色小雞。”老奶奶奇怪地望著我，搖了搖頭勉強(qiáng)地把那只小雞遞給了我。我滿懷信心地抱著小黃雞回家了。

回到家中，我急切給它喂水喝喂東西吃，可它都不理會(huì)。身子還在發(fā)抖。不一會(huì)，媽媽回來了，看到這只小雞就說：“你怎么買了一只病雞回來了呢？”我說：“正是因?yàn)樗×耍遗聸]人照顧它而死掉，才買回來的，我要照顧它，我要讓它活起來。”媽媽望著倔強(qiáng)又可愛的我，笑著說：“你真是一個(gè)善良的孩子。不過你連自己還不會(huì)照顧，怎么會(huì)照顧小雞呢？說完，搖了搖頭就去忙自己的事了。我找了個(gè)鞋盒子，把小雞放了進(jìn)去，找了個(gè)小枕由蓋在它身上，晚上睡覺的時(shí)候我把它放在我的床旁邊。我不時(shí)的起來看看它。我看它一直在發(fā)抖，就用枕巾裹著它，抱在懷里蓋著被子，就這樣抱著它似睡非睡地度過了一夜。

就這樣，在我的堅(jiān)持下，在我的精心照料下，小雞一天天地好轉(zhuǎn)，一天天地成長，我也越來越會(huì)照顧自己了，在我的感染下，媽媽也和我一起照顧小雞了。后來小雞終于長成了小母雞，我也一天天地成熟起來，媽媽說我和小雞在一起成長。
