helping every american with autism achieve their full potential is one of this administration’s top priorities. at the u.s. department of health and human services, we continue to strive to meet the complex needs of all people with autism spectrum disorders (asd) and their families. while there is no cure, early intervention is critical and can greatly improve a child’s development.

perhaps the biggest step we’ve taken to support those affected by autism and their families happened over a year ago, with the signing of the affordable care act. now, new insurance plans are required to cover autism screening and developmental assessments for children at no cost to parents. insurers will also no longer be allowed to deny children coverage for a pre-existing condition such as asd or to set arbitrary lifetime or annual limits on benefits.

also, thanks to the new law, young adults are allowed to stay on their family health insurance until they turn 26. for a young adult with autism spectrum disorder and their family, that means peace of mind. it means more flexibility, more options, and more opportunity to reach their full potential.

ultimately, there is more support for americans with autism than ever before. this means more promise of new breakthroughs that will help us understand autism even better. but in order to continue meeting the needs of people with autism, the combating autism act must be fully reauthorized. we still have a long way to go. working collaboratively with important partners, the affordable care act and the combating autism act will allow us to continue important research and develop and refine vital treatments.

there are still many unknowns. however, one thing is certain. we will continue to work harder than ever to find solutions and provide support to individuals with asd and their families. together, we can help reduce disparities and allow everyone to actualize their greatest potential.

kathleen sebelius is secretary of health and human services.

  Dear teacher and classmates:

I am very glad to say something here. At this time, Id like to talk about my hobbies.

I have many hobbies. First, I like playing video games. Computer games are cool. I could play it all day. Second, I like all kinds of sports. I love fresh air and sunshine. Playing football with friends is fun.

Swimming in the sea is my favorite. I also like to draw pictures at home. Further more, I like music. I like singing. I often sing film songs when I walk in the street. Of course, I learn English everyday. As you know, English is used everywhere in the world. So I learn English very hard. I hope I can travel around the world and speak English with foreigners some day.

There is more I like to do. There is more I want to say. Maybe I can tell you more next time. Thank you for listening.

A little frog wakes up in the morning. He can’t find his toy, he is crying.

A fish hears and comes. He asks, “Why are you crying?” The frog answers, “I lost my toy.” “What is your toy?” “I don’t know its name, but it’s round and yellow.” The fish says, “I know, I know.” Quickly, he comes back with a yellow leaf. “No, no,That’s not my toy.” The frog still cries.

A dog is coming, “A round and yellow thing is on the playground. That must be your toy.” The frog sees, that is not his toy, too. It’s a yellow ball.

A squirrel is running with a pine nut. But that’s not the frog’s toy.

It’s dark. The frog is very sad. He doesn’t find his toy. He cries again. The moon is rising in the sky. The shadow of the moon is on the pond. “Oh! My toy! I found my toy!”

  The frog jumps happily.

  Hi,everybody!

Dreams are the wind for our sails on the ocean. Dreams kindle a flame to illuminate our dark roads. Dreams are the armor for our fragile hearts. Martin Luther King had a dream ― it was to have justice for all people. Lincoln had a dream ― it was to set the slaves free. They sought their dreams and ultimately made them come true. When I was young, I saw a dog one day. I threw a stone at it just for fun. Then it fell down and looked very weak. At that moment, I was surprised to notice it was pregnant. I can’t remember what happened next, but there’s one thing I know: that I felt guilty. It was the first time that I found life could so easily pass away. At that time, I had a dream, which was to help those people who needed help. There are too many wars and disasters. About 16,000 people have died in the Iraq War and one child dies every eight seconds in Africa because of starvation. I have dreams, you have dreams and they have dreams too. We should help them. We should save their lives so that they can pursue th

eir own dreams. Just like the lyric of a song says, “We are the ones who make a brighter day so let’s start giving.” Well, that’s my dream, a simple but meaningful one.

  Thank you!

In china, people believe that,at the beginning, the tiger and the cat were friends, and the cat was much smarter than the tiger .The cat learned the physical skills quickly, and the tiger was always behind.Gradually, the tiger had to learn from the cat,and the cat was patient to teach the tiger.Day after day, month after month, finally, the tiger could also run, jump, roll, grasp, tear, and strike as well as the cat.

One summer afternoon, the cat was taking a nap as the tiger sitting nearby.Looking at the cat,the tiger suddenly thought, why should he keep befriending with such a small animal since he had already learnt all the skills from the cat?The evil tiger decided to kill the sleeping cat as a before dinner snack. The tiger stood up and approached the cat viciously.Just as this moment, the cat woke up.Opening up her eyes, the smart cat immediately realized what the tiger was trying to do and swiftly jumped onto a nearby tall tree and climbed to the top branch.

The tiger thought he had already learned every skill from the cat .But he never knew that the cat had hidden the tree climbing from him.

“I kept the last technique of the tree climbing from you just because I suspected you might be can ungrateful friend.” The cat loudly told the tiger who watched under the tree helplessly.
