　　There are a great deal of media and communication courses available, but adegree in public relations is something I could thrive on. I believe myestablished communication skills and enthusiasm for dealing with other peoplewould provide a solid foundation for which to further develop those skillsincorporated into this course. I relish the idea of a career working with thepublic, based on critical thinking and strategic planning, thus justifying myapplication for this course. My interest in current affairs has stemmed from theA Level politics course I am studying, which engrossed my from day one. Criticalanalysis and presentation of information plays an integral part of this subject,and consequently these skills I have gained from this would prove to be avaluable stepping stone into public relations.

　　My interest in media and communications was fueled by a previous passion tostudy journalism. Work experience in a local newspaper office and at a Germanregional newspaper office provoked a desire to learn more about where ourinformation was coming from and who wrote the press releases that we based ourfront page articles on. Consequently, I carried out additional work experiencein a PR consultancy, whilst on a German exchange, and I am currently waitingfrom several consultancies in my area that I recently applied to.

　　Since year 10, I have been an active member of my schools web team and havehad various articles published relating to subject departments and school tripsI have been on, such as the history-based trip to Eastern Europe. My spare timeinvolves reading books from contemporary authors (John Simpson, Michael Mooreetc) as well as more classic books, such as Catcher in the Rye, To Kill aMockingbird and Animal Farm. I enjoy many aspects of music. I have recentlystarted to teach myself to play the flute and I regularly attend various musicconcerts.

　　At the weekend, I work for HMV (who I have enquired to about a summerplacement at their in-house PR office), which I thoroughly enjoy due to thecreative environment and strong emphasis on customer service. I have had parttime jobs for the last three years, thus allowing me to not only manage my timeefficiently, but to develop various skills in communication with the public andmy ability to work in a team.

　　Evidently, my studies and interests to skills like teamwork, communicationand multi-tasking that I would develop in a public relations degree, hopefullygiving merit to my application for this course.

　　My name is xxx, and I hope to study Chinese opera at your university. Drama is a way to share my thoughts and desires, and also a way to express my inner self. It is the driving force that drives me to overcome any challenge. I am a well-organized, hardworking, self-motivated, and enthusiastic person who enjoys learning as an individual or team. I discovered drama in elementary school and developed my interest through secondary education, quickly joining the after-school drama club. Since then, my love for the theater has grown stronger and stronger. My course is really interesting and rewarding. I like to learn more about drama, so I am looking for a drama course that allows me to explore various aspects of drama, hoping to better understand the business of industrial works in drama.

　　In middle school, I joined the school choir and later volunteered to give Christmas gift baskets to the elderly in the nearby area. In xxxx, I was selected as part of the ACES program, which runs parallel to guiding educational achievement and encourages young people to achieve high scores in GCSE. I am also a young leader in the local Brownie community, where I coordinate handicrafts, write annual letters to parents, and lead other activities with the team. I always participate in productions outside of college. I recently participated in a mime at a local church where I played various primary and secondary roles. In the past, I have experienced various styles of dance and performed for people of all ages. As a hobby, I enjoy kayaking as it is a great way to relax and get rid of distractions. I started playing the piano and enjoy learning new musical works. In addition, I also drafted and wrote poems and published them on Internet forums/blogs.

　　In college, my goal is to achieve high standards in my work, and if necessary, I will improve my work in my spare time to achieve the grades I am capable of. In the course, I have studied theater practitioners in 20th century Europe and around the world, including ONeill, Mamet, Goldberg, Aalto, Cartwright, and Owen Welsh. I also studied Stanislavski and his naturalistic performance methods, including emotional memory, compared to Brecht and his epic theater. I have experience as a set designer, which includes outlining possible set ideas and organizing everyone to help create the set. As part of the performance unit, we must study, write, and adapt existing texts to create our own monologue, and then evaluate it. I have been researching various styles of script creation, and from here I will try my own style. Later in the unit, I will write a very long script and perform it. I am currently designing a performance based on political issues; A tour performance will be held later in the middle school. I have participated in many carefully designed improvisational performances, which have helped me communicate with my colleagues. I found that I prefer improvisation. I assist the gatekeeper in their courses by playing a role for them. This opportunity is very interesting and allows me to use my abilities in different environments. At the end of my first year of college, I participated in the Derrick Jacobi Music Festival, where I directed Michael Fraynes play Silent. There, my actors and I won Best Actor, Best Performance, and Employee Discretionary Awards. Guiding my colleagues was a very interesting and enjoyable experience.

　　Overall, I am a hardworking person who is passionate about work and will do my best to achieve success. Once I complete this degree program, I plan to attend drama school and pursue graduate studies in the subject of my choice. Therefore, in order to achieve my aspirations, I believe that studying your drama course will benefit me and I will become an asset to your school.

　　“The world of computers is growing at an un-recordable rate everyday,computers are the most influential tools in our lives, they are our present andfuture. In my opinion nothing on the planet can measure the exponential growthand excitement in the computing industry, and industry which I want to be a partof, particularly Software Engineering. As long as computers are around, SoftwareEngineering will take place after all, people need to write and code theprograms like Microsoft Word, and code your games, they don’t just appear. Mygoal is to be part of a team who creates worthwhile, efficient and usefulsoftware for consumers. And the Engineering course if I work at it, which Iwill, will be the key to my success, my current computing A-Level course is agood first step for my goal.

　　Other courses I am currently studying are Mathematics and Accountancy,Maths is also very important to my selected career, Maths is a universallanguage, it is used by everything, and is very involved with Computers.

　　I enjoy number work, so an obvious choice at A-Level was Accountancyalthough I find this subject less challenging than others, its still interestingand fun, but it doesn’t grip me like Computing and is not an immediate careerchoice I am hard working and currently work at my local ASDA store, I am on theProvisions/Chilled section and am part of a big team, we each depend on eachother to meet deadlines, its quite a demanding job as you have to deal and betrained with customer services and complaints as we work on the shop floorduring open hours. I currently work a 16hour weekend for ASDA, which providesthe money I need for hobbies.

　　My hobbies include football, going out to the cinema and the odd club orpub, shopping for myself and others, my PC, and the most expensive of all, mygirlfriend. I also like to swim, I find it quite relaxing and it is goodexercise. I also love to eat out, going out for meals with friends is unrivalledby almost any social gathering including clubs and pubs, I love sitting around atable talking and joking about with friends while drinking and eating, itssomething I try and do at least once a month. Friends are very important to meand I try to be the best friend I can.”
