Yungang grottoes are divided into three parts: east, middle and west. The shrines in the grottoes are like a hive of honeycomb, and the large, middle and small grottoes are imbedded in the middle of the mountain. We are now east of the grottoes. The grottoes here are mostly towers, and large and small towers are arranged in neat rows. So the eastern grottoes are called the tower cave.

The fifth cave is here. The central seated statue of the third Buddha in the grottoes is the largest Buddha statue in the grottoes. 這里是第六窟了。它是云崗石窟中最具代表性的洞窟了。窟中央有連接窟頂的兩層高達十五米的塔柱。每層四面都雕有塑像，周圍雕滿佛、菩薩、飛天的造像。壁上雕刻有釋迦牟尼從誕生到成佛的故事。大家有興趣可以仔細看一看。
現在我們來到了云崗石窟的西邊。西部石窟以中窟、小窟和補刻的小龕最多，修建的時代比較晚，大多是北魏遷都洛陽后的作品。
